By its profile of building up scientific collection of chemical literature, The technical library of VÚOS a.s. belongs among the best libraries in the Czech Republic. The library owns the most important chemical periodicals in long-time series from the date of foundation, i.e. from volume 1, without interruption of subscription until the present (e.g. the key chemical information source Chemical Abstracts (from 1907), Chemische Berichte, Monatshefte f. Chemie, Justus Lieb. Annalen der Chemie, Fresenius Ztschr. f. anal.Chemie, Helvetica Chim. Acta etc. The collection of books of the Technical library of VÚOS a.s. involves about 65 000 volumes.

The former utility perfectly combines with the 13th collective register of CA covering the period of 1992 - 1996. Both the electronic media are available for a user in the reading room of Technical library. Recently, the electronic version of Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology (the latest edition) has been ordered. This encyclopaedia will also be accessible on PCs in the reading room.
